Dr. James Gladstone, co-chief of sports medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, spoke with The Wall Street Journal about how long Vikings fans can expect star running back Adrian Peterson to be sidelined by the torn meniscus in his right knee. If Peterson requires surgery, the duration of his absence will depend on the severity of the tear. He could be back in 4-8 weeks, but that period could balloon to 3-4 months if the meniscus requires extensive repair, Dr. Gladstone said.
