March of the Living (MOTL) is an international educational program that brings young people from around the world to march from Auschwitz to Birkenau in Poland on Holocaust Memorial Day. To commemorate MOTL’s 25th anniversary, organizers set out to reunite World War II veterans who liberated concentration camps and Holocaust survivors—many of whom had never met.
We were hired to secure worldwide placements in prominent global media outlets, with a twofold goal: raise funds to support the march and underwrite the huge cost of training and transporting 10,000 young people from around the globe to Poland; and bring international media attention to the history of the Holocaust.
TASC generated worldwide attention for the march in 30+ countries. Pre- and post-event media included coverage from the Associated Press, Reuters, Bloomberg, as well as wire services in Poland, Germany and France. Prominent coverage was generated in The Wall Street Journal, ABC 7 NY, FOX 5 NY, dozens of local affiliates around the U.S., national radio and others. The AP wire photos were disseminated worldwide in thousands of international outlets.
